Dr. Raghavendra Kembhavi completed his MS Ortho in 2011 from JIPMER (Institute of National Importance), one of the premier institutes in India. Following his MS Ortho, he completed three years of senior residency at the same institute.
He is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon in India as well as abroad, with superspecialisation in sports injuries, arthroscopy and arthroplasty of the hip, shoulder and knee, with a particular interest in hip and shoulder arthroscopy. Neglected trauma is also one of his priorities.
He completed his Hip Arthroscopy Fellowship under Dr Michael Dienst, Germany, who is one of the best hip arthroscopy surgeons across the globe. He also underwent fellowship training in shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty under Dr Giovanni Di Giacomo, one of the best shoulder surgeons in Europe. He later continued his shoulder training in Neuss, Germany, under Prof. Jorg Jerosch, one of the senior-most and most experienced surgeons in Germany in shoulder surgeries. He also completed his advanced shoulder fellowship training at one of the best shoulder tertiary centres in Cattolica, Italy, with a heavy patient load involving various shoulder problems.
He is also a recipient of the prestigious SICOT organisation fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at Bruderkrankenhaus St. Josef, Paderborn, Germany, where he underwent training in primary and revision arthroplasty surgeries of the hip and knee, including all approaches to the hip, at one of the best replacement centres in Germany.
He has also completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Knee Arthroscopy under Dr JVS Vidyasagar, who is one of the renowned arthroscopists in India.
He visited Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen, Scotland, in 2016 as an honorary fellow for shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
He is one of the few surgeons across India performing hip arthroscopy and has performed novel procedures such as arthroscopic acetabular labral reconstruction, arthroscopic femoral head fracture fixation, and arthroscopic-assisted core decompression for avascular necrosis of the femoral head. He has performed over 200 hip arthroscopic procedures with excellent results.
He has performed over 500 shoulder arthroscopic procedures with excellent results. His clinical expertise also includes extensive knee arthroscopic procedures, including ACL/PCL and multiligamentous reconstructions, meniscal procedures, and cartilage procedures.
